My wife was seen by Ms Chaudhry on 08 April this year with a view to surgery for a reduction of her left breast to a similar size as her right one. The size of her right breast was left as a result of reconstructive surgery not being offered to her when a breast cancer operation was performed at Frenchay Hospital around 20 years ago by Mr.Griffiths. The operation was successful and no recurrence of the illness has occurred. As the initial operation was in a different Trust area, Ms Chaudhry was not sure if funds were available for the operation, and she would see her Managers in order to establish the next course of events. We have so far not received any communication from Ms Chaudhry about the situation, even though it is now over 21 weeks since my wife's initial consultation. We find this situation extremely poor, and would expect a better response within a much lesser time frame.

I have met Anushka Choudhry twice following tests which confirmed that I have breast cancer. Anushka was excellent when suggesting what treatment would suit me best. She put me totally at ease, explained in terms that were easy to understand and did not put pressure on me to accept without question what treatment she recommended. I was initially overwhelmed to learn that I had cancer and shied away from a complete mastectomy. However, I trust Anushka totally and will be guided by her suggestions. I could not have been in the care of anyone more sympathetic and understanding. I will go into surgery with complete confidence under the care of this brilliant doctor. I am so fortunate to be under her care.

I would like to thank Dr Chaudhry for her care and advice. However, there was a delayed work by the secretary on my admission and the slow response on my surgery result. I called up Sheron to informed her on my agreement to take the surgery but she did not get back to me and I wasn't admitted to the surgery until I called again few days before the intended surgery date. Moreover, I am still yet to get my result from the surgery after a month. I tried calling the secretary number for weeks but no one answered my call.

The service received was second to none. Dr Chaudhry was so attentative and puts herself in the shoes of the patient. She and her team were amazing and always concentrated on me (the patient) and always at my pace. I felt at such ease and she is really an asset to the Great Western hospital, considering the very difficult and distressing situation that patients find themselves in. If I was able to she deserves an OBE or equivalent.
